“Protect Children, Respect Rights”
Covid-19 is a global pandemic that affect human lives, caused by a deadly illness called corona virus. This has resulted schools shut all across the world to avoid crowd and infecting children. This pandemic threatens to hit them the hardest. They have been affected by school shut down.
Education is disrupted nationwide. As a result of being isolated and stuck at home and learning in distance, children may suffer curiosity, difficulties, anxiety and stress. Children may no longer receive immunizations or have access to life-saving basic health care as the Covid-19 pandemic overwhelms health services. And for those who rely on school-based nutrition programs are being cut-off from the food they need. Therefore, to ensure child rights and child protection, the government need to protect children rights. Supporting government to prioritize schools in their reopening plans and take all possible measure to open safely. While school remain closed, government must scale up learning options. Ensuring every child everywhere can learn online.
We’ll continue to work together to keep children connected learning. And parents should explain to their own children about the Covid-19 pandemic for them to understand and be aware in our situation right now. Together we can prevent the Covid-19 pandemic from a becoming lasting crisis for children. We must take this opportunity to invest in our future and build back better.
