Stopping Education , Is It Really A Smart Option?

 

           

            Covid-19 is a global crisis or pandemic caused by the highly contagious viral illness called corona virus. This has resulted schools shut all across the world to avoid crowd and infecting students. As a consequence, education has changed dramatically into distance learning with two modalities, the online and modular modality of learning. We must embrace or introduce much needed innovation into our education system nowadays.         

   The online modality of learning is generally for those who have internet access at home. This can be done virtually through google meets for communication and forms to answer or take the examination. Learning online can be more effective in a number of ways. One is that they are able to search everything on the internet. This way, it will be more helpful to them especially in answering their modules, homeworks, as well as their projects. However, it still has many disadvantages especially in the health of every student. It may affect their eyes, relationship with their family, mental, emotional and physical health. They can also be distracted from gadgets like playing online games, scrolling on their social media accounts and etc.

However, most of the students do not have proper and adequate study equipment to use during this new normal, such as Wi-Fi, laptop, printer and etc. In that case, they allow them to use printed modules. Printed modules can be distributed to students to answer on their home. It's an effective way for students to learn who doesn’t have enough budgets to acquire online classes. But for some instances, students are having rough and hard times to be able to understand the given module and do not have a good connection for them to search on the internet.

          We should work harder than before to minimize negative impact on education system to have quality education during covid-19 pandemic. We should double our effort and manage our time wisely. There is no need for the academic freeze, the important thing now is that we are learning and there is no time being wasted because even in the midst of the pandemic, we still manage and find a way to study because it is the best solution we can do and have now.
